Ken MacFadyen, Vice President

Ken MacFadyen oversees BackBay’s content-creation platform, working with clients to develop thought leadership and market commentary that take the form of articles placed within national financial publications, white papers, shareholder letters, videos, webcasts, social media and client communications.

As well, Ken provides strategic branding, marketing, and public relations for a client base consisting of global asset managers, RIAs, lending institutions, financial technology firms, private equity firms and other alternative asset managers. As part of this, he assists with all content related to these efforts, such as press releases, website copy, media talking points, and crisis and internal communications, while managing relationships with key reporters covering the relevant areas.

Immediately prior to joining BackBay, Ken served in the Office of the CEO at Panera Bread LLC as a communications specialist and speechwriter, and before that worked in the Global Communications/Investor Relations group of The TJX Companies. Prior to that, Ken spent over a decade in publishing, covering M&A, leveraged finance, private equity and other alternative asset categories. He served as the editor in chief at Mergers & Acquisitions Journal and before that served in senior editorial roles at Investment Dealers’ Digest and Buyouts Magazine.

Ken received a B.A. in English (Phi Beta Kappa) from The University of New Hampshire.
