Boston, MA, August 24, 2020 – BackBay Communications, a leading financial-services public relations and integrated content marketing firm, will again be participating at Private Equity International’s Investor Relations, Marketing & Communications Forum 2020. As part of the virtual event, which begins September 2, 2020, two of BackBay’s senior executives, Phil Nunes and Ken MacFadyen, will moderate panel discussions touching on best practices in private equity marketing, communications and investor relations.
Mr. MacFadyen, Senior Vice President and Head of Content Development at BackBay, will be moderating the panel “Marketing/Communications: optimizing your digital marketing and social media strategy.” The panel will take place September 2 at 2:40pm EST.
Joining Mr. MacFadyen on the panel are Devin Banerjee, Senior Editor, Financial Services, LinkedIn; Kathleen Richmond, Director of Marketing, Serent Capital; and Andrea Williams, Managing Director and Head of Corporate Communications and Branding, Oaktree Capital.
“Private equity firms have historically been more conservative in adopting digital marketing and social media strategies than other segments within financial services,” noted Mr. MacFadyen. “The pandemic and ensuing shelter-in-place directives, however, have forced many to get up to speed quickly. I’m excited to participate alongside such an accomplished group of industry practitioners who can share their deep experience to help others navigate the digital-marketing landscape.”
On day two of the conference, Mr. Nunes, Senior Vice President at BackBay, will be moderating the panel “AGMs: dissecting approaches and challenges faced in a crisis year.”
The panel, set to take place on September 3 at 11:30 am EST, will feature comments from panelists: Keith Davisson, Director, Global Marketing and Communications, The Riverside Company; Caroline Schimmelbusch, Director, Capital Development, Europe, Bregal Investments; Meghan Slentz, Head of Partner Relations and Marketing, Pritzker Private Capital; and Joanne Yoo, Managing Director, Development Partners International (DPI).
“Due to the pandemic, many private equity firms have had to pivot and either hold or plan for completely virtual annual investor meetings for the first time ever,” said Mr. Nunes. “I’m looking forward to hearing from our panelists on how they have adapted to the situation and employed new technologies and creative communication strategies that enabled productive and successful events.”
In its 15th year, the Forum brings together investor relations, marketing and communications professionals in private equity to share best practices in LP relations, brand creation and development, and marketing strategies. For more information on the event, visit the website here.
